Beyond The Rubble
"Beyond the Rubble" is a moving and captivating story, a sociological novel which imparts the unfolding events in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that took place in Haiti in January 2010. The author describes the events leading up to the destruction of many neighborhoods, as well as the loss of countless lives. The vivid style of the author places anyone at the center of the actions. Amidst all the socioeconomic, political and environmental impact of the disaster, an incredible love story emerged with signs of hope and faith. I hope that you will enjoy it! Marguerite Samson, MS in Public Administration It is a very compelling story, and it helps the reader enter the reality of the circumstances of the earthquake. You know the line from Mary Poppins -- a little bit of sugar helps the medicine go down! A good story helps readers/listeners appreciate and engage with a reality that otherwise might not capture them. Dr. Susan Waltz, PhD in International Relations “Beyond the Rubbles” A Sociological Novel is both a beautiful love story and a novel full of historical and cultural facts! The story takes you in, as it is set during the earthquake of Haiti, with all its details and eloquent story telling. Reading this book has left me full of hope about love. While it is fiction, this story could be real, that is what keeps you reading. Because so many people were affected by this earthquake, this saga can very well be one of their stories. I would like to believe that after all the pain and loss suffered, somewhere under all that rubble Love was really found. Stephanie Michelle Honorat, MS in Child Psychology
